Cambridge Primary English Teacher Training
Allaahumma sholli’alaa sayyidina Mohammad wa’alaa ali sayyidina Mohammad. May the peace be upon the Prophet Mohammad SAW.
Asshodriyah Islamic School (AIS) has sent a delegation team to attend Cambridge Primary English Teacher Traning on Saturday, Feb 16, 2020 in Menara Peninsula hotel, Jakarta. The delegation team consists of AIS professional English teachers: Mr Anjun, Ms Lita, and Ms Amelia.
The key point of the training is discussing about the creative competencies in managing the class and delivering the knowledge. The creative competencies are vital for problem solving and for developing ways of adapting knowledge to new contexts. When teachers use effective practices, they maximize the probability that students will be actively engaged in instruction. Student engagement is one of the most well-established predictors of achievement; when students are more engaged in academic instruction, they tend to have greater academic and social success.
Another essential element which is one of the most powerful influences on learning and achievement, giving evaluative feedback. When a teacher receives feedback on the progress that students are making, this changes the next step in their teaching. When a student receives feedback on the progress they are making, this changes the next step in their learning.
Through the workshop, AIS teachers will work to develop competency in the classroom and how formative assessment only works if the teachers are giving students feedback and using that feedback to inform their practices.
Let us be a lifetime learner.
